Sher Shivraj is the fourth film of Digpal Lanjekar’s collection of videos primarily based on the vital chapters of record throughout Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj reign.
It takes us back to the time when Shivaji Maharaj has acquired a stronghold in the parts of Maval. As the location falls underneath the jurisdiction of the Adilshahi sultanate, they want to halt Shivaji Maharaj at any price tag. In Bijapur’s court of Adilshahi, the mission to catch the Maratha king is announced and it’s Afzalkhan who requires up the undertaking in his hands.
Afzalkhan leaves Bijapur along with his big military, destroying temples and sacred areas to irk Shivaji Maharaj. On the other hand, the great Maratha warrior retains his relaxed and plans how to handle his enemy though he shifts his position to Pratapgarh fort.
It displays how Shivaji Maharaj, despite a confined army and weapons, dares to offer with a monster-like enemy with brilliant tactics.
Sher Shivraj Film Evaluate: Script Analysis
The battle of Pratapgarh is a properly-recognized chapter of Indian background and the topic has a good deal of opportunity if executed perfectly. But regardless of an crucial thread in the hand, the tale fails to weave magic as the movie moves at a very gradual rate.
The movie completely revolves all around Afzalkhan, but there is no develop-up to his character, so curbing his menacing impression in the course of the film. There are some moments which search thrilling and increase benefit to the narration but the movie loses observe so normally that even some genuinely great scenes get wasted.
Historic dramas are about the grandeur, perfectly-established characters and intriguing subplots, but this 1 falls small in each and every single department. It’s hard to consider, that Pawankhind and Sher Shivraj are penned by the similar human being (Digpal Lanjekar).
Sher Shivraj Movie Evaluation: Star Overall performance
Chinmay Mandlekar is one particular of the unusual positives to be taken from the movie. Just after Farzand, Fatteshikast and Pawankhind, he appears to be like reliable and delicate in his act of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. His pauses, physique language and dialogue delivery glance convincing as a great Maratha warrior.
Mukesh Rishi plays the function of Afzhalkhan. We have noticed ample great operate from him in Hindi movies and 1 just cannot doubt his calibre as an antagonist. Having said that, right here he fails in providing ample chills and appears to be basic listed here (of program, undesirable character sketch to be blamed).
Mrinal Kulkarni and Vaibhav Mangle have finished their elements properly. Many others in supporting roles are just about ok and no 1 genuinely stands out.
Sher Shivraj Film Assessment: Route, Audio
A tighter spending budget doesn’t automatically need to have to compress the close product or service, and we have observed it in Pawankhind. As opposed to preceding Marathi films, the film had some genuinely fantastic warfare sequences and one particular could see how Digpal Lanjekar handled them as USP. In this article, in Sher Shivraj, he looks puzzled and does sleepwalking in his work. Even the crucial climax scene seems incredibly ordinary and there is no enjoyment in it. Neither psychological nor combat scenes are outstanding, creating the size of 153 minutes a yawnful journey!
Talking about the VFX get the job done, it is one particular of the worst that has been witnessed in new times. To give an illustration, there are a pair of combat scenes in which half a sword appears to be clearly feels like an animated operate with the decreased element of a sword getting invisible.
There are a pair of tracks and the two are passable, not well worth remembering. Qualifications new music is excellent in some areas but fails in carrying the momentum in most of the scenes.
Sher Shivraj Film Review: The Previous Term
Currently being the future portion of Digpal Lanjekar’s historical movie series following the super profitable Pawankhind will work in opposition to the film as it fails to stay up to its large expectations a massive time. Not a movie that the Marathi industry requires at this time!
Two stars!
